VITALLY JOINED

Last night I couldn't sleep. I felt a tug on my heart from God. I went outside and got into the hammock and started worshipping... After a while I started reading scripture. I was reading Romans 12 and when I got to verses 4-5 something leapt of the page. "In the human body there are many parts and organs, each with a unique function. 5 And so it is in the Body of Christ. For though we are many, we've all been mingled into one body in Christ. This means that we are all VITALLY JOINED to one another, with each contributing to the others."

When I saw the word vital my mind started racing, realized the gravity of what was written. Vital isn't just a "maybe", or "it would be good if" It is a MUST. It is VITAL for us to be JOINED, in order to be the healthy body and bride of Christ.

Imagine what good a heart could do outside of the body? Or how functional a pair of eyes would be plucked from the face, or an arm disjointed, a leg walking on its own? I fear that the "Body" of Christ has spent so much time claiming it's rights as "equal" parts that we have wholly forgotten the importance of every part working TOGETHER in UNITY in order for the Kingdom to advance. No matter how important ones face is, if it's not attached to a body, it won't be much good. It will actually be quite frightening.

We must realize that not only is each part of the body equally important, but that our full engagement, TOGETHER in UNITY is how we will actually be effective! We are called to live in harmony, synchronized with the heartbeat of God and breath of His Spirit. It is as vital as life itself!

My heart breaks to see so many disjointed children in the family of God. It may seem logical or "holy" to separate oneself from the "mess" called church, called the Body of Christ. But the solution won't begin without all of us engaging fully!

We have to be willing to get our hands dirty, to put our hearts out there, to be inconvenienced, to go out of our comfort zone. To become a FAMILY, a real BODY.
Becoming one is not a piece of cake. (Can any of my married friends agree?) Yet just as we are called to become one with our spouse, we ALL are called as a body to be a unified BRIDE of Christ, and to be ONE with Him. (We have to be ONE body in order to join with Him!) We have to stop jockeying for position, acting like there are sides to compete from and like there are enemies to conquer. Each of us is a part of the solution! We have to start engaging in that solution.

How else are we going to have anything to offer the world? What I would love least is searching for a family that's fighting to go spend my day with... why would lost children want to come into a broken divided family of God?
We have to BE what we desire to see. If something is broken in your church, in your relationships, in your own heart towards those relationships, FIX it! If you don't know how, ASK JESUS! If you need help, make a friend that will keep you accountable. God help is to be your pure and spotless BRIDE. May we not be of two minds, may we not be so divided that we are not a body at all. Lord help bring UNITY to your Church!

Much love in Christ!
